I'm Just sayin'....

This year I am reading my Bible through in Chronological order. I got to skip out of the middle of Genesis and jump straight into the book of Job. Oh goodie. (yes I’m being sarcastic)

So, I was traipsing through Job’s story and I had a thought hit me. If Job was alive today in modern times, I bet he would have a Facebook 'cuz he would be cool like that. So then I wondered...what would his status updates look like?

God is awesome! He is the creator of all things and I am so blessed!

I’m reeling in grief. My kids were in a tragic accident.

My skin is crawling with oozing sores. Please pray for wisdom for the doctor.

I will praise God in the good days and the bad.

I’m not so sure I can handle much more of this.

Blessed be the name of the Lord. He gives and takes away, but I will say Blessed be the name of the Lord.

And then I wondered about his friends; Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. Why would he let them continue to torment him with their endless babble. They did nothing to encourage him. Instead they accused him of being in sin.

I have to confess that if I had friends like Job’s I probably would ignore their phone calls and text messages and delete their comments on my facebook. If they continued to point their finger at me in judgment, I may even consider “unfriending” them.

Hmmm….I wonder if Job would “unfriend” Eliphaz, Bildad and Zophar?

I'm just sayin'...
